Getting Started, Settings & Black-Screen Fixes

From install to fixing the black screen, to the settings that maximize idle gains. The fastest path to a build that grows on its own.

Install & launch

  1. Get TBH on Steam and launch itTask Bar Hero is free-to-play. Grab it on Steam and start it.
  2. Pick a spot on your taskbarTuck it into a corner that won’t block your work. Auto-combat runs inside the small window.
  3. Start with the Knight aloneNo input needed — heroes auto-fight and auto-collect. Tweak party and gear between work tasks. That’s the core loop.
If the screen is black / nothing shows

Press Shift+F11 / Shift+F12 to reset the display. On multi-monitor setups the window can land off-screen — drag it back to your main monitor, then reset again.

Recommended early settings

  • Keep notifications minimal so they don’t interrupt your work
  • Confirm auto-combat is ON
  • Enable offline rewards after unlocking the Rest Rune (see the Rune Priority page for order)

First 0–10 hours

  1. Push stages with the Knight alone and bank your first rune points
  2. Take Command Rune for +1 hero slot — run a 2-hero party
  3. Take Awakening for +1 skill slot; Rest & Winding to boost idle gains
  4. Once the 3rd slot opens, move to the fastest farm party (Priest + Ranger + Sorcerer)
The fastest tip

Early on, prioritize slots and automation over raw damage. Not missing the rune order is the real shortcut.
